Turmeric, scientifically
known as "Curcuma Longa," is a rhizomatous plant from the
Zingiberaceae family, such as ginger, etc. Turmeric, also known as "dotè
djè," in various forms, whether powder, mother tincture, or as a dietary
supplement, contains a multitude of beneficial properties for the body.
Turmeric contains active
principles such as curcumin and other curcuminoids, resin, phenolic compounds,
bitter principles, and essential oil. All these principles give this plant a
uniqueness in the treatment of diseases traditionally. The curcuminoids and
curcumin contained in turmeric are natural pigments that give it its iconic
color. But they are also powerful antioxidants, which help eliminate excess
free radicals in the body.
Turmeric
is good for the brain
Curcumin, combined with
turmerone, another component of turmeric, has positive effects on the brain.
Curcumin is a promising molecule for regenerating damaged brain cells in
neurological diseases. Particularly in Alzheimer's disease: it destroys protein
plaques responsible for the degeneration of certain brain cells while
preventing their formation.
An
anti-inflammatory
Turmeric, thanks to its
natural anti-inflammatory properties, simultaneously improves joint mobility.
It also helps reduce joint pain, rheumatoid arthritis, and osteoarthritis, as
well as postoperative pain, thanks to its anti-inflammatory power. This plant
also protects against inflammatory diseases of the liver and intestine such as
bile duct obstruction and chronic liver diseases like hepatitis.
Turmeric
relieves digestive disorders
The World Health
Organization has recognized its positive action against digestive disorders. In
addition to soothing stomach ailments, turmeric optimizes disturbed bile
functions, which can notably cause constipation. It improves the quality of
intestinal permeable mucous membranes. Consumed daily, turmeric reduces
inflammation and has a preventive effect on ulcers.
Turmeric,
a source of vitamins
Rich in iron, manganese,
potassium, vitamins C and B6, regularly consumed turmeric is a good way to stay
healthy. For example, during periods of fatigue, it gives a boost. It is also a
preventive superfood for overall health.
For
prevention, take a teaspoon of turmeric powder daily, sprinkled on your dishes.
Turmeric
to increase sexual capacity or libido
Curcumin contains numerous
antioxidants and has been used for a long time to treat fertility problems and
improve the type of sperm secreted. Numerous studies have been conducted to
study the effect of turmeric on people suffering from hypospermia and those
with a high number of sperm. It has been confirmed by the study that curcumin,
found in turmeric, greatly improved its motility, in addition to the fact that
the sperm became white, indicating an improvement in its movement. Turmeric
plays an effective role in improving the sexual capacity of men, especially for
those with erectile dysfunction.
