Castor oil is not only
a choice alternative for the treatment of skin and hair diseases. It can also
be used to enhance eyelashes, eyebrows and even beards. But in addition, it is
an effective treatment ingredient for joint pain. How to use castor oil?
Castor oil is an
effective treatment alternative for arthritis and osteoarthritis.
Osteoarthritis is a so-called mechanical condition that is characterized by the
gradual wear and tear of joint cartilage. Aging is the most common risk factor
for osteoarthritis. Arthritis, on the other hand, is not caused by the normal
wear and tear of bones. Rather, it is an inflammation that causes the secretion
of substances that gradually destroy the structure of the joint. It can be of
infectious, genetic or metabolic origin. Castor oil, this natural product
effectively relieves joint and muscle pain. It is analgesic and
anti-inflammatory. These effects will allow to reabsorb the pain.
How to use it
To do this, the
easiest way to proceed remains the inevitable massage. If you choose to
massage, then you should take a teaspoon or two of this vegetable oil to apply
locally. Especially to massage well the zone for a good penetration of oil.
Peppermint is a good anti inflammatory, which is interesting in synergy with
castor oil.
Recipe: Take pure
castor oil and heat it. It should not boil. Dip a piece of cloth in the oil
afterwards. Let the oil soak in. Place it on the area of the body to be treated
for at least one hour, while taking care to massage gently. This should be done
morning and evening to be effective. Here, the most important to keep the heat
of the poultice. It is therefore advisable to turn to a heating blanket or a
hot water bottle. This will allow the oil to fully develop its analgesic
properties. Place a hot water bottle on the fabric for a good penetration of
the castor oil which will attract the white blood cells to the infected area.
Benefits for the skin
Rich in fatty acids,
castor oil moisturizes and nourishes even the driest skin. It also stimulates
the production of collagen and elastin, which are essential for the suppleness
and softness of the epidermis. In this way, it keeps the skin smooth and reduces
signs of aging such as wrinkles and fine lines. By promoting micro blood
circulation, this oil allows the skin to regenerate more easily. This
reinforces its anti-aging action, but also helps reduce dark circles or skin
spots. Its healing power repairs and protects the skin. Castor oil is therefore
ideal for fighting acne and reducing scars.
Antibacterial and
antifungal, castor oil can also soothe the most sensitive skin and suffer from
skin diseases such as eczema, psoriasis, mycosis or warts. It also relieves
other problems such as burns, following a sunburn for example. This vegetable
oil is recognized for its softening properties, brought by the important
quantity of fatty acids in its composition. When applied to the skin, it
repairs it, leaving it smooth and soft.
Which castor oil to
choose?
The castor oil that is
applied to the aches and pains must not be reduced in its active ingredients.
In other words, castor oil must be 100% natural and from the first cold
pressing. It can be found in certain stores or health centers. And if it is
organic, it is even better. However, this oil cannot replace the advice of a
health professional.
