Nearly 200 healthcare providers have been trained in the individualised management of TB patients using the E- Tracker tool. The aim is to optimise the management of TB patients in Togo. The training, which took place from1 to 10 August 2022 in Tsévié, Atakpamé and Kara, gave the targeted health workers and focal points the skills they needed to manage the individual data of TB patients.

Individual patient monitoring, one of the priorities of the National Tuberculosis Control Programme (PNLT), is now possible in Togo thanks to the E-tracker component of the DHIS 2 platform.  Developed with the support of the HISP-WCA, the E-tracker module solves the problems associated with individual monitoring of TB patients.

E-Tracker is an application on the DHIS2 platform for the collection of personal (or case-based) transactional data, such as individual patient medical records, confirmed and suspected cases during an outbreak, logistical information on specific products or student school records, to name but a few examples.Tracker supports the direct monitoring and tracking of these cases, as well as data analysis and reporting within an HMIS, health programme or other large-scale project requiring information management down to the smallest detail.

The training was provided by facilitators from the NTP and the National Health Information System and Information Technology Division (DSNISI). These measures are in line with the government's efforts to strengthen Togo's health system with financial support from the Global Fund.
