Intimate wipes are becoming increasingly popular on the market as a means of combating bothersome odours and perspiration. But more and more doctors are warning of the dangers of systematic use of wipes. They must not be perfumed or contain alcohol. What's more, they must be pH-neutral. If they are, they can be irritating and cause vaginal burns. Furthermore, they should only be used occasionally, when traveling, or during menstruation. Wipes contain active products that remain on the genital tract after use, since you don't rinse afterwards. These products can be irritating.

It's imperative to maintain impeccable intimate hygiene to limit the risk of vaginal infection and subsequent burning. We're talking here about external intimate hygiene (vulva, labia, clitoris), not internal washing. Vaginal douching, a source of infection, should be avoided. Good intimate hygiene means showering every day with a mild soap, without using a washcloth. Then dry yourself thoroughly, always from front to back.
