Menstrual
color is an indicator of a woman's state of health. This is because menstrual
blood is made up of the body's waste products. In particular: lipids, proteins,
hormones, stem cells, water, dead endometrial cells and organic pollutants. In
other words, menstrual blood collects waste from a woman's lifestyle, eating
habits, daily activities and the products she uses.
There
are three (3) key aspects to menstruation: abundance, color and consistency.
What's normal? How do you know there's nothing to worry about? Is it necessary
to check these three aspects every month? The better informed a woman is about
her body's biological processes, the better she can act to optimize its
functions and achieve well-being.
The
quantity of bleeding
Some
periods are very heavy and others much lighter, which is perfectly normal as
long as it remains constant. But if it changes suddenly, watch out. If a woman
doesn't drink enough water, her period will be less abundant. If periods are
painful, the woman may have problems with certain organs.
Color
change
In
general, the color change of menstruation depends on the state of the liver. If
the organ is not well hydrated or at high temperatures, the color changes.
Pinkish
color
This
type of bleeding usually lasts more than two days. If it's usually present, it
may be a sign of weakness and low immune defenses. But if the color of the blood
suddenly changes to a pinkish hue, it may indicate early pregnancy. The woman or
girl may also be experiencing hormonal changes or an infection.
Intense
red
On
the first day, the menstrual flow is intensely red. It has a light consistency.
This is common during menstruation. There's really nothing to worry about.
Dark
red
If
the menstrual blood has a purple color and a dry flow, it means that the
discharge is older. For some reason, they've stayed in the uterus longer and,
when expelled, have taken on this color. Even at the onset of menstruation, a
woman may shed blood from her previous cycle.
Dark
brown
This
color is quite normal when the woman or girl is at the end of her period. The
onset is very slight, but it is usually at the end of the period that the
endometrial tissue must be expelled for renewal.
Orange
color
Sometimes,
blood in the cervix can mix with menstrual blood. For this reason, a
heterogeneous discharge is formed, with orange and red stripes. If the orange
color is stronger, a gynecologist should be consulted. It may be an infection.
Blood
consistency
When
a woman gets rid of her menstrual flow, she releases energy that is stored in
the body.If she does strenuous activities, the flow will be more liquid. If she
has clots, it may be due to stress.
Tips
for a good menstrual cycle
Women
and girls need to drink enough during the day, at least 2 liters of water. She
should eat a diet rich in wholegrain cereals, wholemeal bread and natural or
organic rice, which contribute to the production of serotonin. These foods also
improve mood. Be careful, though, to avoid fatty foods. Junk food is a trigger
for constipation and estrogen reduction.During menstruation, women should take
hot infusions, which can regulate blood circulation and reduce pain and
inflammation in the area. During menstruation, women should take warm herbal
teas, which can regulate blood circulation and reduce pain and inflammation in
the area. During menstruation, it's important to get enough sleep every
day. This strengthens the body's defences, improves digestion and ensures good
cardiac function. Women should engage in physical activity to reduce stress and
anxiety. During sporting activity, the body releases endorphins that relieve
pain and provide a sense of well-being.
