Food is the key to health. All the foods given by God to mankind are the first medicines in terms of health prevention. In the tropics, there are many foods, herbs, vegetables, spices and plants that grow from the earth. In many parts of Africa, particularly in the forest regions, there are centenarians. The first cause is their diet. Certain foods are essential for good health and longevity.

Almost everyone can achieve health and longevity. But there are conditions to be met. The first is good nutrition. There are many foods that have high-level nutritional and curative power. They include moringa, cinnamon, turmeric, beetroot and carrots. Several scientific studies have been carried out on these plants, proving their particular health benefits.

Moringa

Moringa is rich in nutrients (vitamins, minerals, antioxidants) and has been the subject of several studies. Some research indicates that its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties may help to reduce oxidative stress and protect against certain chronic diseases, such as heart disease and type 2 diabetes.A study published in « Phytotherapy Research » (2014) shows that moringa can reduce blood sugar levels and improve lipid profiles in diabetic patients.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is renowned for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.Studies have shown that it can have a positive effect on blood sugar regulation, particularly in people with type 2 diabetes. A study published in « Diabetes Care » in 2003 found that cinnamon could improve insulin sensitivity and reduce blood glucose levels in diabetic patients.Other research also suggests that it may help to reduce cardiovascular risks.

Turmeric

Turmeric's active compound, curcumin, has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Studies have shown that curcumin helps to prevent and treat a range of chronic diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, and heart and respiratory problems. Regular consumption of turmeric helps prevent and treat inflammatory diseases such as osteoarthritis. Turmeric helps prevent cancer. According to the results of a study published in the « Journal of Clinical Immunology » in 2017, curcumin powerfully boosts immunity and reduces inflammation.

Beetroot

Beetroot is rich in nitrates, which are converted into nitric oxide in the body and can improve blood circulation, which is beneficial for heart health. A study published in the « Journal of Applied Physiology » (2009) showed that eating beetroot gives energy and stamina for physical performance by increasing oxygen efficiency in the body. Several studies have also found that beetroot is effective against high blood pressure and stroke.

Carrots

Carrots are an excellent source of beta-carotene, an antioxidant that can help prevent oxidative stress and protect cells from damage. A 2008 study published in the « American Journal of Clinical Nutrition » suggests that eating carrots, because of their high carotenoid content, may be linked to a reduced risk of certain cancers, particularly lung cancer.Carrots may also be beneficial for eye health, due to their vitamin A content.

Consuming these foods once in a while does not allow you to benefit from their powerful virtues. You have to make it a lifelong diet to bear witness.
