The omega-3 fatty acids in fish and nuts are key to reducing the risk of developing breast cancer. This is potentially game-changing news in the fight against breast cancer. Researchers working with the North American Menopause Society have found that foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids may help reduce the risk of breast cancer. Their work was published in the journal Menopause. Fish, vegetable oils (peanut, soya,  walnut), oysters, coconuts and leafy vegetables (cabbage, gboma, ademè) are the foods to choose. They are essential for the human body, which does not naturally produce this type of fatty acid. Indeed, these multi-acid foods (dietary alinolenic acid, eicosapentaenoic acid, docosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid) help reduce the risk.  Women can affect their risk of developing breast cancer by making dietary changes to include fruit and vegetables, fibre and legumes and by avoiding high-fat animal and dairy products.
