fruit is an excellent remedy for constipation, as it is rich in fiber,
particularly pectin. In cases of constipation, it is therefore advisable to
increase fruit consumption. Some fruits are slightly more laxative than others:
melon, for example. Oranges, pineapples and apples can also be eaten. Whenever
possible, eat fruit with the skin, after washing it well: this is where most of
the fiber is concentrated. Some fruit juices, such as apple juice, also have a
laxative effect.
To
combat constipation, many other nuts and oleaginous fruits are also excellent
for transit. Coconuts and almonds, for example, are equally rich in fiber, as
are peanuts and hazelnuts. If you suffer from constipation, don't hesitate to
nibble on a few before your meal. But be careful not to overdo it, as these
anti-constipation foods are generally quite high in calories.
