The Institut National d'Assurance Maladie (INAM) opened a new liaison
office on Wednesday 03 April 2024 at the Centre Hospitalier Préfectoral (CHP)
in Blitta, in the central region. The official opening ceremony took place in the presence of local
authorities, including the prefect of Blitta, the mayor of the commune of
Blitta 1 and the prefectural director of health. Also present at
the ceremony were prescribers from health facilities, pharmacists and a number
of local health insurance beneficiaries.
Insured
persons in the Blitta prefecture and surrounding area now have an INAM liaison
office. They will be able to obtain information and advice on coverage, apply
for prior authorisation and for a certificate of treatment for chronic
conditions (TPC), renew coverage tools (booklets and cards), etc. at this INAM
office. Prescribers will also find a sympathetic ear for their concerns and
information needs, to ensure better care for insured patients.
The opening of this office
is part of INAM's customer policy in connection with the implementation of
Universal Health Insurance (UHI), which consists of gradually setting up INAM
offices in all the country's prefectures and major conurbations with a view to
bringing the Institute's services closer to the beneficiaries.
The Blitta liaison office
brings to 17 the total number of INAM proximity points opened to meet the
expectations of insured persons and improve the quality of its services.INAM
plans to open a liaison office in the near future at the Badou Prefectural Hospital
in the Plateaux region.
As part of the roll-out of
universal health insurance, the INAM is now providing care for vulnerable
individuals and households under the medical assistance scheme, in addition to
active and retired civil servants.
