From
8 April to 27 May 2024, the Institut National d'Assurance Maladie (INAM) is
organising a mobile free medical consultation campaign in Greater Lomé to offer
medical care to the population.
The
campaign will be launched on 8 April 2024 in the communes of Golfe 5 and
Agoè-Nyivé 6 at the ‘Maison des Jeunes’ sites in Lomé (Amadahomé) and
Adéticopé. The people of these two communes turned out in large numbers to
receive free medical care and medicines, as well as screening tests for high
blood pressure and diabetes, and advice on health and well-being. A multi-disciplinary medical team comprising
doctors and paramedics is on hand at both sites to look after the population.
The
aim of this mobile medical consultation campaign is to provide quality health
care to the public and to obtain conclusive health data on vulnerable
populations in order to implement the medical assistance scheme. This activity
is part of the health and social action policy for universal health insurance
currently being implemented in Togo.
The
campaign is organised by INAM in partnership with the National Doctors'
Association of Togo (ONMT), the African Centre for Research in Epidemiology and
Public Health (CARESP) and the National Agency for Voluntary Work in Togo
(ANVT).
