The
international NGO « Santé Intégrée (SI) » will hold an Open Day on 10
March 2023 in Lomé. The information was communicated to media professionals on
Wednesday 22 February 2023 during an information meeting organised at the
headquarters of this organisation in Lomé. Placed under the theme « The
partnership, lever for the achievement of universal health coverage »,
this open day will be an opportunity for this NGO established in Togo since
2004 to become better known, to publicize its activities and achievements in
the country.
« This
is the very first open day that we have organised in Togo since 2004 when we
started working in the community. It will be, first, to demonstrate to the
public that partnership is the lever for achieving the goals of universal health
coverage, and second, to get journalists interested in community health, which
is the foundation of any health system », said Ms. Anita Kouvahey-Eklu, Deputy Country
Director of SI.
« We
will also organise panels on the place of digitalisation in health and the role
of gender in community interventions. Apart from these reasons, we also want to
present the results we have achieved in Togo thanks to the support of the
Ministry of Health. Because SI does not intervene alone, it accompanies the
Ministry of Health for the provision of quality services in health facilities »,
she added.
With
a mission to « make quality primary health care accessible to all »,
Integrate Health works alongside the government and local communities in
implementing an integrated approach to strengthening primary health care
delivery. Primary health care must be
accessible to all. The aim is to achieve universal health coverage.
To
achieve its objectives, Santé Intégrée uses trained and equipped community
health workers (CHWs) and improves the quality of care in health facilities
through clinical coaching. It ensures the construction or renovation of
infrastructures, the delivery of medicines of sufficient quality and the total
subsidy of service fees.
To
date, the organisation supports nearly 30 health facilities in the prefectures
of Kozah, Bassar, Dankpen, Keran and Binah. It cares for children under 5 years
of age, pregnant women and women of childbearing age and offers care to people
living with HIV including Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV.
