A team from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago has shown that writing letters, playing cards, board games, scrabble, puzzles and crosswords are cognitively stimulating activities that can delay cognitive decline. According to the journal « Neurology », keeping the brain active in old age can delay the onset of Alzheimer's disease by up to 5 years. It's never too late to start engaging in this type of activity.
