The President of the Republic, Faure Gnassingbé, inaugurated an annex unit of the Dogta-Lafiè reference hospital this Friday, January 24, 2025, in Kara (Kozah, 410 km north of Lomé). This initiative aims to enhance patient well-being through modern infrastructure and cutting-edge technology.

Built on an area of 2,855 m² within a 6,623 m² domain, the Kara annex includes a diagnostic center, a hemodialysis unit, ophthalmology services, and dental care facilities, ensuring increased access to quality healthcare for the population.

The ceremony brought together prominent personalities, including government members, parliamentarians, civil, military, and traditional authorities, as well as the local population.

Mrs. Ingrid Awadé, Director-General of the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) and initiator of the project, took the opportunity to announce the upcoming opening of similar annexes in Dapaong and Blitta, as well as the establishment of a regional blood transfusion center at the CHU Kara. This marks a significant step forward in strengthening Togo's healthcare system.
