On Monday, November 24, the Ministry of Health will launch a national vaccination campaign against measles and rubella. The campaign, scheduled to last seven days across the country, will be combined with the administration of vitamin A and deworming with albendazole.Specifically, during the campaign, children aged 6 months to 5 years will receive vitamin A, while those aged 12 months to 5 years will be dewormed with albendazole.
Children aged 9 months to
5 years will be vaccinated against measles and rubella, and those aged 0 to 5
years, as well as 9-year-old girls who are unvaccinated or incompletely
vaccinated, will receive catch-up vaccinations. This new campaign aims to
strengthen the protection of children against vaccine-preventable diseases. It
is part of the government's commitment to improving child health and reducing
mortality from infectious diseases.Catch-up and follow-up vaccination campaigns
are regularly organized to maintain high vaccination coverage and prevent the
resurgence of these diseases in children.
