Men’s health will be at the heart of an awareness and screening campaign organized by the Eagle Africa Association in November 2026 in Togo, Ghana and Benin. Held under the theme “Prevent, Screen and Act for Men’s Health,” the third edition of Blue November aims, in particular, to raise awareness of prostate diseases and encourage men to seek medical advice when they notice unusual symptoms.

Ahead of the campaign, a meeting with media professionals was held on Tuesday, September 29, at the Eagle Africa Clinic in Lomé. The meeting provided an opportunity to present the various activities planned and mobilize families, businesses, associations, institutions and communities around prevention. The initiative is part of a health education approach aimed at breaking taboos surrounding men’s health and promoting earlier management of urological and andrological conditions.

Knowing the prostate better to protect it

The prostate is a small gland of the male reproductive system located below the bladder. With age, it can be affected by various conditions, including benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer.

Through the Prostate Champion Center in Africa (PCCA), Eagle Africa intends to explain to men the role of this organ, the main diseases that can affect it, the warning signs to watch for and the available treatment options.

“Every man should know the health status of his genital and urinary organs,” said the Director of the Eagle Africa Association, Dr. Adji Kossi Ahadji. According to Dr. Ahadji, knowing one’s body better makes it possible to pay attention to unusual changes and seek professional medical advice when necessary. “It is very important to first know the organ, know its condition, and take care of this organ, which is very precious,” he stressed.

Urinary symptoms that should lead to a medical evaluation include difficulty urinating, a weaker urine stream, frequent urges to urinate, and the feeling of not completely emptying the bladder.

However, these symptoms alone do not make it possible to determine the underlying condition. A healthcare professional can recommend the necessary examinations to establish a diagnosis and guide the patient toward appropriate care.

Awareness and screening activities in several cities

The official launch of Blue November 2026 is scheduled for November 7 in Lomé, in collaboration with the Togolese Federation for Sport for All. A mass sports activity will be combined with a screening operation.

The campaign will then continue in several localities in Togo before extending to Ghana and Benin. An activity is scheduled for November 14 in Aflao, Ghana, and another on November 21 in Cotonou, Benin.

Depending on the locations, the teams will organize information sessions, community activities, sporting activities and screening operations. Workplace interventions are also planned, with participants referred to partner health facilities when necessary.

The aim is to bring health information and preventive services closer to communities, particularly men who tend to seek medical care infrequently or only at a late stage when experiencing urological problems.

Sport as a means of prevention

The partnership with the Togolese Federation for Sport for All is another component of the campaign. It seeks to combine physical activity, health awareness and the prevention of non-communicable diseases.

According to the Federation’s President, Ben Kalidjora Hatto, sport can help promote healthier habits. Looking back at the previous edition, he said that nearly 70% of the people who agreed to undergo screening during the activity organized with the Federation reported positive experiences.

He encouraged men and athletes to take advantage of the different stages of the campaign to obtain information and participate in the screening activities.

A campaign supported by partners

To implement Blue November, Eagle Africa is counting on the support of its technical, financial and institutional partners. “We are making a solemn appeal to all our partners, all institutions, all organizations, as well as individuals and people of goodwill,” said Dr. Adji Kossi Ahadji. Eagle Africa also hopes to establish Blue November as an annual event dedicated to information, prevention and screening for diseases affecting men’s health.
