The most common causes are fungal infections, eczema and vaginal dryness. Fungal infections are often caused by an imbalance in the vaginal flora and the vaginal pH. They cause a very red irritation of the labia, with a very uncomfortable burning and itching sensation. A whitish, foamy discharge often accompanies these symptoms.
