The banana is one of the most nutritious foods, rich in starch which provides energy. It has many medicinal properties.
Bananas contain 3 natural sugars: sucrose, fructose and glucose. It is also rich in protein, fibre, phosphorus, iron and vitamins and minerals. Energetic and very rich in water, bananas are generally important for the proper functioning of the body.
Anti-cancer benefits
The condition of the banana is also important to know if the nutrients are still well preserved. Some people do not like overripe bananas because of the brown spots on the skin. However, according to recent studies, overripe bananas are much more effective because they contain a substance called Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF), which has the ability to act against abnormal cells.
In addition, the more brown spots are present in the fruit, the greater its capacity to strengthen the immune system. On the other hand, a Japanese study has shown that TNF in ripe bananas has effective anti-cancer properties and strengthens the immune system. The Japanese researchers concluded that regular consumption of bananas can prevent diseases such as cancer.
Unripe bananas also contain TNF, but in low doses and therefore not as effective against abnormal cells. The nutrient content changes as the fruit ripens. The more it ripens, the higher the amount of antioxidants. Bananas with brown spots are high in sugar and therefore not recommended for diabetics.
According to Japanese scientists, ripe bananas stimulate the production of white blood cells, boost the metabolism and produce TNF. Eat at least one or two bananas a day to boost the immune system.
Put overripe bananas in the refrigerator to preserve their nutrients. However, avoid bananas with a completely brown or dark skin.
Have a good mood
Ripe bananas are best for reducing anxiety. When you feel stressed or tired, bananas help regulate your mood. Bananas contain tryptophan, a protein that stimulates the production of serotonin, the mood-regulating hormone. Indeed, serotonin is known to be a powerful natural relaxant. Therefore, too little serotonin can lead to depression. Ripe bananas help you feel happier. As well as being an excellent source of energy, it is rich in vitamins, especially B vitamins, and minerals such as potassium, which promotes concentration. It helps to relax the nervous system and combat stress.
