The National Institute of Health Insurance (INAM) was awarded the ISSA Good Practice Award for Africa 2023 on 17 May. This award was given by the International Social Security Association (AISS). This is the second time that INAM has received this award after the one it received in 2020. It is being honoured this time for its outstanding commitment to the modernisation of health services. 

The certificate of merit was awarded to INAM for its implementation of a revolutionary digital platform, known as "Iconventionnement". This platform automates the process of contracting health care providers, offering an efficient and practical solution. With Iconventionnement, healthcare providers can now submit their applications for conventionnement online, simplifying the administrative process and speeding up the processing of applications.

The automation of INAM's application process has been recognised by the ISSA's independent international jury as a good practice that could inspire other institutions within the international organisation. This recognition underlines INAM's commitment to adopting innovative solutions to improve the efficiency and quality of its services.

The implementation of this platform is part of INAM's ambitious digital transformation project, which aims to modernise the institute and meet the challenges of universal health coverage. By investing in cutting-edge technologies and promoting system interoperability, INAM is striving to improve the quality of health care and facilitate data exchange with its partners.

This initiative marks an important step in the modernisation of the health system in Togo. INAM was the winner of the ISSA Good Practice Award for Africa 2020. Indeed, in October 2021, it received its first award during the virtual award ceremony organised by the International Social Security Association (ISSA) for Africa. The Certificate of Merit with Special Mention is awarded to INAM for "Transformation of the health insurance business and achievement of strategic objectives based on the ISSA Good Practice Framework". The innovative and structured approach to the selection and implementation of the IT infrastructure adopted by INAM for the upgrade of its information system was highly appreciated by the ISSA jury.
