virtues of dark chocolate are no longer a secret. Known for its vasodilator
properties, it lowers blood pressure over the long term by dilating blood
vessels. But according to a new study
conducted by a team at the University of Arizona, it also contains powerful
stimulants capable of increasing the brain's attention span. Eating dark
chocolate helps to keep the brain healthy and maintain mental capacity.

more, the study highlighted another interesting component of this food:
theanine. This amino acid is a truly fascinating product that lowers blood
pressure and produces what we call alpha waves in the brain, which are calm and
peaceful. While further studies are
needed to validate the health benefits of 60% chocolate on hypertension, the
results of this research are encouraging. The chemical elements present in
cocoa allow blood vessels to “relax”. As a result, blood circulates more
easily, leading to a reduction in blood pressure.
