Typhoid
fever, a bacterial disease caused by Salmonella typhi, remains a public health
problem. Generally transmitted through contaminated water or food, it manifests
itself through high fever, abdominal pain, general weakness and sometimes
serious complications if not treated in time. While antibiotics remain the
standard treatment, certain natural solutions, such as papaya seeds, are
attracting increasing interest for their antimicrobial properties.
Papaya
(Carica papaya), often eaten for its digestive benefits and vitamin content,
hides precious medicinal virtues in its seeds. Traditionally used in natural
medicine, papaya seeds have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-parasitic
properties. Several studies have shown that these seeds contain active
compounds, including alkaloids, flavonoids and tannins, which can help fight
certain bacterial infections, including Salmonella typhi.
Antibacterial
effect
Papaya
seeds have demonstrated inhibitory activity against pathogenic bacteria,
including Salmonella typhi, the bacterium responsible for typhoid fever. They
prevent the proliferation of the bacteria responsible for typhoid fever. In
2008, the University of Gondar in Ethiopia conducted research showing that
papaya seed extracts can inhibit the growth of Salmonella typhi and other
pathogenic bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and
Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Traditional practices in Togo and Nigeria involve
eating papaya seeds mixed with milk or boiled to treat typhoid fever.
Recipe:
Dry the seeds, then grind them to a powder. Add 1 teaspoon of this powder to 1
glass of warm water or porridge. Drink twice a day (morning and evening).
Detoxifying
the liver and intestines
Typhoid
fever often affects the digestive system. Papaya seeds are renowned for their
ability to purify the liver and improve digestion. This can help relieve some
of the symptoms of the disease. The valuable active ingredients in papaya seeds
are even useful in cases of cirrhosis of the liver. Reports recommend eating 5
to 6 dried papaya seeds a day. The seeds should be finely ground and taken with
juice. After just 30 days of use, such a cure produces surprisingly positive
results in terms of liver health, due in particular to the papain it contains.
Papain
activates the growth hormone somatropin via various detours. This is extremely
important for the renewal and regeneration of liver cells, and it has long been
known that an overworked liver recovers more easily if the body can produce
sufficient somatropin.
Therefore,
include papaya seeds in your liver cleansing diet or in measures to regenerate
the liver. The effort is minimal. Simply chew 5 papaya seeds several times a
day or apply the recipe below.
Recipe:
Take 1 tablespoon of fresh seeds. Crush and mix with honey or the juice of 2
limes. Take twice a day for one week.
